This Sunday we'll be teaching from 2 Chronicles 34 in C3Kids.
In this passage, King Josiah's people find the Book of the Law and they experience the transformational power that comes with hearing God's Holy Word. When King Josiah heard God's Word, he literally tore his clothes. This is a sign of great humility, a sign of great repentance.
Talk about convicting! In today's America, we hear God's Word and have access to God's Word all the time. But how often does it cause us to respond in such awe? How often do we fall to our knees after listening to or reading His Word? Or are we just going through the motions?
As you discuss this story with your little ones this week, focus on the power of God and how amazing it is that God has chosen to give us His Word. Pretend to be King Josiah - "tear" off your jacket! And pray fervently as a family for God to give us all tender hearts that are quick to fall in humility before our great God.
