This Sunday we'll be teaching from 2 Kings 4:1-17 in C3Kids.
The story, which our curriculum titles "God performs miracles through Elisha," is an example of God's power and kindness. As you take time this week to share the story with your kids, focus on how hopeless the widow was - she was in a desperate situation, she cried out for help, God heard her cries, and answered her prayers in a miraculous way.
Parents, has God ever provided in a miraculous way for you? Have you ever been in a desperate situation and God answered your prayers in a way that seemed unbelievable to you? Has God ever lead you to seek counsel from a Godly man or woman, just as the widow sought counsel from Elisha? If so, share these examples from your own life as you discuss this story. As you share how God has personally impacted your life, your children will grow to see that God cares about each of us intimately and hopefully, their faith will be strengthened.
Remember that the kids will be bringing home a coloring sheet that they completed during their time in C3Kids. On the back of the coloring sheet is a note to parents with suggestions about how to review the story and apply it throughout the week. A great way to check for understanding is to ask about the coloring sheet on the way home from church. I know my kids love to tell me all about their coloring; it makes for an easy way to get the conversation rolling!
